Victoria “Cookie” Franco-Herman

Victoria “Cookie” Franco-Herman is a proud resident of Montgomery Township NJ, an enthusiastic community organizer, a longstanding foundation professional, and a loving wife and mother of 2 boys.

Cookie Franco-Herman was born and raised in the Philippines. After graduating with a Political Science degree, she worked in the 1998 Presidential campaign of the former Secretary of National Defense of the Philippines. Two (2) years later, Cookie immigrated to the United States in an effort to discover and tackle new challenges.

For the past 16 years, Cookie has worked for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the largest health philanthropy in America committed to improving health and health equity for all in the United States. Cookie serves as an Equity Officer for the Equity and Culture department. In her role, she supports the implementation of the Foundation’s equity, diversity and inclusion strategies, connecting equity learning to practice, interrupting inequities across policies and practices and collaborating to build systems of accountability for equity across the organization.

Cookie won her first term on the Board of Education in 2020. She’s been the First Vice-President on the board for the past 2 years. Cookie serves as the Chair of the Human Resources Committee. She advocated for the creation of a Community Engagement/ Communications Officer who would serve to implement a district communications strategy. She also served as the Chair of the Ad Hoc Food Service Committee and led the search and RFP process for the new food service provider in collaboration with selected parents, administration and staff.
